Sudoku Scanner
Scan a Sudoku with your camera or a screenshot and solve it in seconds. The grid reader runs entirely in your browser — your photo is never uploaded.
Solve a Sudoku from a picture
Stuck on a puzzle in a newspaper, a book or another app? Take a photo or grab a screenshot and the scanner detects the grid, reads the digits and drops them into an editable board. Cells it is unsure about are flagged so you can confirm them before solving.
Private by design
The whole pipeline — grid detection and digit recognition — runs on your device. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so your image stays private and the scanner even works offline once loaded.
From scan to solution
Once the grid is filled and corrected, you get everything the full solver offers: the complete solution, a single next-cell hint with a clear explanation, step-by-step mode, and a difficulty rating for the puzzle you scanned.
How to solve a Sudoku from a photo
- Open the scanner. Tap Scan photo on the Sudoku solver.
- Take or choose a picture. Photograph the puzzle, or pick a screenshot from your device.
- Check the read. The reader fills the grid; cells it is unsure about are flagged in amber for you to confirm.
- Solve or get a hint. Press Solve for the full answer, or ask for a single next-cell hint.
