Arrow Sudoku
Play Arrow Sudoku: classic rules plus arrows whose circled digit equals the sum of the digits along the arrow. Free, with difficulty levels.
Arrow Sudoku combines Sudoku with light arithmetic. Each arrow has a circled cell and a shaft: the digit in the circle must equal the sum of the digits along the shaft.
Because the circle can hold at most a 9, the shaft digits are always small — a two-cell shaft summing to a single circled digit forces tight, deducible combinations. Arrows and thermometers share the same "path" DNA, which is why solvers who enjoy one usually love the other.
Pick a difficulty and Playoku deals a fresh, uniquely-solvable arrow board with every arrow drawn in and your entries checked as you play.
Rules
- All classic Sudoku rules apply.
- The digit in an arrow’s circle equals the sum of the digits along its shaft.
- Shaft cells may repeat a digit only if normal Sudoku rules allow it (different row, column and box).
Frequently asked questions
How does Arrow Sudoku work?
Each arrow’s circled cell holds a digit equal to the sum of the digits along the arrow’s shaft.
What is the difference between Arrow and Killer Sudoku?
Both use sums, but a killer cage sums to a printed number with no repeats, while an arrow sums to a digit that lives inside the puzzle — the circled cell.
